OliPlayDownload on the App Store

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

The short version

OliPlay does not collect any data. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no advertising. We have no servers and never see what you watch.

What stays on your device

OliPlay stores a small amount of data locally on your device so the app works:

The server address and your app settings never leave your device. Playback positions are also sent to the server you connect to, when that server keeps watch history of its own — that is how a half-watched episode still shows as half-watched in its web interface. Everything stored locally is deleted when you delete the app.

Your media server

OliPlay connects directly from your device to the media server youchoose (for example Plex, Jellyfin, or a DLNA/UPnP server on your home network). All traffic flows between your device and your server. That server's own privacy practices are governed by its operator, not by OliPlay.

One exception: when your server's web interface uses poster images hosted by themoviedb.org, OliPlay fetches the artwork for that title directly so it can appear on the lock screen. That request tells themoviedb.org your IP address and which poster was requested — the same request your browser already makes when the site shows you that poster.

Purchases

The OliPlay Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details, or any other personal information from a purchase.

Local network access

The app asks for local network permission solely to discover and reach media servers on your own network. Nothing about your network is collected or transmitted anywhere.

Children

OliPlay does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
